The Veterinary Center offers state-of-the-art, non-invasive imaging services for the diagnostic evaluation of the internal organs, the skeleton, the brain, heart, teeth, and blood vessels in every species we treat.
These services include:
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasonography – sends harmless soundwaves through the body to image internal structures
- Echocardiography – sends soundwaves through the heart and blood vessels to image them both inside and out
- CT Scan (computer tomography) – similar to X-ray, but 3D
We work with a board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialist, a board-certified veterinary radiologist, and a board-certified veterinary cardiologist to interpret the results of these cutting-edge tests to provide our veterinarians with as much information as possible to make accurate diagnoses.
The benefit of these technologies is that pets typically need only mild sedation, rather than full anesthesia, for these tests to be performed, making them not only extremely helpful but also extremely safe. Most facilities caring for birds and exotic pets do not offer these advanced imaging techniques, which can be invaluable in a diagnostic work-up.
