Our Animal Hospital is AAHA Accredited
The Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics is proud to have passed our third accreditation with the American Animal Hospital Association, making us the only AAHA-accredited avian-specialty practice in the state of New York and 1 of 7 in the United States and Canada!
Accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association indicates that we are practicing the gold standard of veterinary medicine, delivering the highest quality of pet care to each and every one of our patients. AAHA is the only organization that accredits companion animal hospitals who go above and beyond state-mandated standards and we are so proud to be numbered among the best.
How Does AAHA Accreditation Work?
In order to be accredited, an animal hospital must voluntarily have their facility examined on a regular basis to ensure that they are achieving the highest standards of veterinary excellence. There are more than 900 individual standards, subdivided into 19 different categories including:
- Patient care
- Pain management
- Surgery
- Pharmacy
- Laboratory
- Exam facilities
- Medical records
- Cleanliness
- Emergency services
- Dental care
- Diagnostic imaging
- Anesthesiology
- Continuing education
We are committed not only to providing you with the best medical care but also to treating every client and patient with compassion and respect.
